Based in Malta, NY the corporate communications intern will support the Senior Lead, Corporate Communications and Media Relations in developing corporate messaging and communications related to U.S. government affairs, semiconductor manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability. Working with corporate communications, government affairs, and subject matter experts, the intern will research relevant industry and policy developments, help translate complex topics into clear communications, and prepare materials supporting corporate announcements, executive engagements, and external stakeholder outreach. This role offers hands-on experience in corporate storytelling, public affairs communications, and reputation management.

Requirements

  • At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
  • English (Written & Verbal) Fluency
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience or project experience in corporate communications, public affairs, government affairs, journalism, or policy research.
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • Interest in the semiconductor industry, U.S. manufacturing, technology policy, and the intersection of business and government
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt messaging for executive, media, government, and other external audiences
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Interest in responsibly using company-approved AI tools to support research, drafting, and productivity, with appropriate fact-checking and protection of confidential information

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading corporate messaging, talking points, briefing materials, presentations, fact sheets, Q&As, and other communications supporting government affairs and corporate initiatives.
  • Assist with corporate storytelling and thought leadership materials, including website copy, blog articles, with an emphasis on policy, manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with government affairs, corporate communications, and subject matter experts to help ensure materials are accurate, consistent with approved messaging, and tailored to their intended audiences.
  • Help maintain messaging resources, editorial calendars, and project trackers; coordinate review processes and incorporate feedback under the corporate communications lead’s guidance.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
