About The Position

To manage product responsibilities including: purchasing, quoting, expediting, de-expediting and tactical supply chain management. Corporate Buyer I / Buyer II (Hybrid) Location: Southfield, MI Schedule: Hybrid – 2 days onsite (mandatory) Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 base salary + annual bonus incentive Position Summary We are seeking a Corporate Buyer (level I or II) to support our purchasing and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for executing purchasing activities, supporting contract management, and ensuring materials are sourced, scheduled, and delivered in alignment with inventory and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong ERP experience, supplier management capabilities, and a working understanding of global supply chains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • General understanding of company policies, procedures, and purchasing systems
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and files
  • Working knowledge of supplier capabilities and production processes (mills preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and suppliers

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory planning processes
  • Exposure to global sourcing and supplier management

Responsibilities

  • Quote and support sales contracts in coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders within the ERP system
  • Manage standard inventory items and maintain accurate system data
  • Coordinate supply schedules to meet inventory and operational targets
  • Process return purchase orders and manage associated credits/debits
  • Maintain supplier records including pricing, lead times, and capabilities
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships (inside and outside sales contacts)
  • Prepare and support supplier performance reviews
  • Support purchasing activities related to contractual agreements; assess risk and evaluate alternatives with regional teams
  • Contribute to tactical negotiations in coordination with Product Managers and supply base management
  • Develop a working understanding of the global supply base and internal processing capabilities
  • Ensure effective communication with internal customers and suppliers
  • Maintain compliance with corporate purchasing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrate alignment with company competencies and performance expectations
