About The Position

This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite per week in Auburn Hills, MI, supporting the Engineered Plastics business. The position is ideal for an experienced purchasing professional who is a strong team player and effective working independently. The role involves both strategic and administrative responsibilities, requiring organization, drive, innovation, and a willingness to handle administrative tasks. The company is growing and looking for two new Buyers.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years minimum purchasing experience
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes and supplier management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently on your own while collaborating with a team
  • Comfortable managing details, data, and administrative tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Quote and support sales contracts
  • Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders
  • Manage standard inventory through the ERP system
  • Schedule material to meet inventory and supply chain objectives
  • Review and process return purchase orders
  • Enter credits and debits as requested
  • Maintain knowledge of suppliers, pricing, lead times, and capabilities
  • Build relationships with supplier inside and outside sales contacts
  • Purchase against contractual agreements and support risk evaluations
  • Support regions with alternatives and sourcing decisions
  • Understand internal processing equipment and global supply base
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and suppliers
  • Support corporate objectives (ROCE, sales, operations, purchasing)
