About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for compliance with the ISO 45001 standard. This position is also responsible for auditing company auditors as a means of process improvement as well as quality assurance of total company compliance. Compliance must be assured for all associated RailPros plans, programs and regulations, including all railroad, FRA, federal, state and local jurisdictions. Participates in in-field safety blitzes as deemed necessary. May also assist RPFS management audits as needed.

  • Ability to report unsatisfactory findings with a solution based approach
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must speak clearly, use proper pronunciation and grammar, and read and write effectively in English
  • Must be well organized, responsible, extremely focused, and productive with the ability to follow precise instructions
  • Securing relevant information and identifying key issues and relationships from a base of information; relating and comparing data from different sources; identifying cause effect relationships
  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years of safety, regulatory compliance or railroad management level experience
  • Experience in process improvement, able to explain fact based cases for new initiatives
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion in the handling of sensitive and/or confidential materials and information
  • Proven leadership experience
  • ISO 9001 Auditor

Responsibilities

  • Perform follow up compliance inspections after a failed event within 15 calendar days
  • Perform follow up in field audits across all participating departments
  • Perform audits as needed of DWR’s, Job Set Ups, OTSS, etc.
  • Make recommendations for process, product, and training improvements
  • Report misalignments as reconciled between operations audit findings and their own
  • Participate in property specific safety blitzes at the request of operations management or as directed by Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct remote observations (audible and / or visual)
  • Find creative, technology based solutions for quality assurance in conjunction with the ISO 45001 Standard
  • Schedule regular meetings for reporting of findings
  • Participate in post incident/audit findings investigations to determine root cause and recommend mitigations
  • Follow up on mitigations to track their effectiveness
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
  • Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
