About The Position

The Corporate Affairs Manager develops and executes strategies that strengthen Plexus’ reputation, advance key stakeholder relationships, and support the company’s license to operate and grow globally. This role aligns business priorities with public perception through government relations, public policy, reputation management, industry advocacy, and community engagement. The Corporate Affairs Manager builds relationships with policymakers, regulators, key opinion leaders, trade associations, and community stakeholders while partnering across Plexus to anticipate external risks and opportunities. This is an opportunity for a strategic, highly personable professional who wants to help expand Plexus’ influence and reputation within the direct selling industry and beyond.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Political Science, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Crisis Communications, or Corporate Communications.
  • Direct selling industry experience at the corporate level preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of government relations, public policy, advocacy, and reputation management.
  • Strong strategic thinking, writing, analytical, and executive communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the emotional intelligence, diplomacy, and presence to build credibility with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly personable, adaptable, and comfortable representing the company externally.
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards, sound judgment, discretion, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute government relations strategies aligned with business priorities at the local, state, federal, and international levels.
  • Build relationships with policymakers, regulators, trade associations, and other stakeholders to advance business objectives and mitigate risk.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments and recommend appropriate company positions and actions.
  • Represent Plexus with select government, industry, and external organizations.
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders and influential stakeholders who can strengthen understanding of Plexus and the direct selling business model.
  • Advance policies that protect independent entrepreneurship, consumer access, and Plexus’ ability to operate and grow.
  • Identify emerging reputational, political, regulatory, and stakeholder issues and develop proactive response strategies.
  • Prepare executive briefing materials, talking points, position papers, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Support Corporate Affairs and government relations strategies for international market expansion.
  • Partner across the business to assess political, regulatory, and stakeholder environments in priority markets.
  • Develop relationships with local governments, trade organizations, and other stakeholders that support successful market entry and ongoing operations.
  • Partner across Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Sales, and other functions to coordinate responses to external issues.
  • Support Corporate Social Responsibility and community engagement initiatives that strengthen Plexus’ reputation and stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide leadership with external intelligence, stakeholder insights, and recommendations on emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Track the effectiveness and impact of Corporate Affairs initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support occasional business needs outside standard working hours.
