About The Position
Sonar is hiring a Corporate Accounting Manager to help build and scale its growing finance organization. This role goes beyond traditional close and reporting; the manager will help design processes, strengthen controls, develop and implement AI tooling, and partner cross-functionally to ensure financial accuracy as operations grow in complexity. The Corporate Accounting Manager will play a critical role in day-to-day accounting operations while helping evolve systems, policies, and workflows that support multi-entity operations.
Requirements
- Direct experience designing, building, and deploying AI agents.
- 7+ years of experience, preferably in software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate across teams, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Nice To Haves
- Big 4 foundation.
- CPA or similar certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules across core balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- Lead process improvement and transformation initiatives that strengthen reporting quality, efficiency, scalability, and controls.
- Identify and implement opportunities to use automation, technology, and AI-enabled solutions within management reporting processes.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members and serve as a trusted resource across the broader finance organization.
- Assist with ongoing audits and liaise with external auditors.
