About The Position

The Corporate Accounting Director owns the day-to-day execution of McLarens' global corporate accounting function — audit coordination, close and consolidation, M&A integration accounting, intercompany policy, and global accounting policy and advisory — in close partnership with the Corporate Controller, who retains final authority on audit escalation, intercompany policy, and consolidated reporting sign-off. The role leads McLarens' India-based corporate accounting shared services team, serves as a go-to technical resource for finance staff across all regions, and partners closely with Global Consolidations, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal across a global footprint spanning LatAm, APAC, EMEA, the UK, and North America.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive corporate accounting or audit experience; experience in a global or multinational organization is a plus.
  • Exposure to M&A due diligence or integration accounting is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating external audit processes across multiple business units or regions.
  • Experience with ERP and consolidation systems (SAP and/or equivalent large-ERP platform; consolidation tools such as Planful or similar).
  • People management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in a private-equity-backed or PE-owned portfolio company.
  • Familiarity with UK GAAP and/or IFRS is a plus; strong US GAAP-trained candidates are encouraged to apply, as training on McLarens' UK GAAP reporting framework will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the monthly global consolidation process, including reviewing regional portfolios, resolving posting issues, re-running consolidations, and managing close timing across all regions.
  • Work closely with the Global Consolidations team on consolidation mapping, reporting timelines, and resolution of cross-entity issues.
  • Support the rollout and ongoing use of SAP Group Reporting for consolidation, partnering with the Global Consolidations team and the Rubix SAP S/4HANA implementation program on data mapping, testing, and adoption.
  • Own GL mapping governance, including revenue account mapping and income statement structure decisions.
  • Review monthly consolidated management reporting, including exceptional items and balance sheet/CEBITDA variances, preparing final materials for the Corporate Controller's review and sign-off prior to distribution.
  • Maintain exceptional item schedules and approval documentation for review by the Exceptional Committee (CFO, Corporate Controller, and FP&A leadership), and support enterprise project tracking.
  • Perform monthly quality review of sensitive corporate close reporting areas and serve as peer reviewer for the team prior to submission.
  • Coordinate group audit response across all regions in partnership with the Corporate Controller and regional finance leadership, including findings remediation, control deficiency responses, and audit plan/schedule management.
  • Own control mediation, planning, and remediation responses in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain Going Concern models and memos for all Group consolidation levels.
  • Support intercompany recharge methodology, dispute resolution, and legal-entity cost allocation in partnership with the Corporate Controller and FP&A, Tax, and Corporate Accounting stakeholders.
  • Manage corporate close for McLarens' corporate legal entities, serving as the primary coordination point on intercompany loan documentation, invoicing, and related cross-functional issues.
  • Own IT allocation policy methodology and rollout communication.
  • Support the development and delivery of global accounting policy guidance under UK GAAP in response to standard changes or identified business needs, including financial reporting alerts and policy memos, escalating open policy questions to the Corporate Controller.
  • Lead the design and delivery of global training materials, townhalls, and policy communications.
  • Prepare recommendations on annual candidates for Controllership review programs and prepare final result reports for the Corporate Controller's determination.
  • Support Corporate Development on new acquisitions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration accounting, in partnership with the Corporate Controller.
  • Manage McLarens' India-based corporate accounting shared services team (3 team members), including KPI tracking, task rotation, and capability development.
  • Evolve the shared service model within corporate accounting functions, with regular overlap hours to support real-time collaboration with the team.
  • Act as the central controllership liaison aligning with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal on strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with corporate function leaders to provide controllership perspective on budget, cost center, and reporting matters.
