Pepper Construction, a general contracting and construction management firm, is seeking an Accountant to join their growing accounting team at their corporate office in Barrington, IL. This role will be responsible for accounting for multiple operating entities and will play an integral part in the team. Requirements

Bachelors in Accounting
CPA or CPA seeking
2+ years in a related environment
Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and recommend solutions
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
High level of technical fluency in Excel and various accounting systems

Responsibilities

Record fixed asset purchases, disposals and depreciation calculations and conduct annual fixed asset audit.
Prepare and review journal entries.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
Understand and apply all necessary accounting guidance, laws and/or contract terms as applicable to processing of accounting and financial transactions.
Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial reporting.
Participate in the year-end audit process.
Special projects and analysis as needed.
