Employment Type Staff Internal Job Category Non-Exempt (Staff) Full-Time Department Campus Security Hours 40 Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The Corporal position exists as an armed officer serving to protect life and property at Belmont University, to preserve order and maintain the peace, to prevent and detect crime, and to provide mechanisms for responding to requests for service, incidents, and emergency situations. The position of corporal provides role-model performance and serves as a coach, mentor, trainer and first-line leader for officers. This position is eligible to receive a shift differential. Belmont's Office of Campus Security is here around the clock — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — to keep our community safe. Our team of more than 40 trained officers patrols campus, responds to emergencies and works alongside students, faculty and staff to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who calls Belmont home. Every OCS officer is trained to respond to medical, criminal and weather-related emergencies.
