About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission System’s Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) Division is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal CORE Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals and will require 100% on-site work. As an integral part of our Foundational Systems Engineering Team, you will be a key contributor to a program that is transforming concepts into real systems and working across disciplines while balancing new and traditional implementations of systems thinking. Some of our major development programs include sensors for current and next generation air and sea platforms: including EA-18 Growler, SEWIP, unmanned programs, and other restricted programs/missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.
  • A current/active U.S Government Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Experience in systems engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense industries.
  • Experience with system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, functional decomposition, and interface control documentation.
  • Experience participating in major systems reviews, including SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, etc.
  • Experience working through the systems engineering process.
  • Proficient with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB, or comparable software.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
  • Active U.S Government Top Secret Clearance or higher with SAP Access and or SCI eligibility.
  • Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Experience effectively communicating and presenting complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers.
  • Experience supporting an agile development team.

Responsibilities

  • Application of systems engineering processes to develop systems that meet customer requirements.
  • Management of requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation.
  • Support preparations, execution, and resolution of major system design reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), etc.)
  • Work with product teams in different disciplines and domains to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
