About The Position

The Slide Attendant works in conjunction with Lifeguards to ensure participants safely utilize the slides at City of Hobbs aquatics facilities. This role is crucial for the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the aquatics facilities, prioritizing the safety of all participants. The Slide Attendant will attend all in-service trainings related to safety and aquatics operations, follow instructions from supervisory staff, and exhibit a positive attitude and appropriate conduct. Creating positive relationships with the public, co-workers, and supervisors, and treating all aquatics customers respectfully are key aspects of this position. The role requires adherence to the work schedule, conscientious completion of job assignments, effective communication, and compliance with safety rules and equipment usage. Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating self-initiative in performing routine tasks are also important. Adherence to laws, department policies, and organizational objectives is expected.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships up and down the chain of command.
  • Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to deal with people under stressful and demanding situations.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working at aquatics facilities is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with Lifeguards to safely, effectively, and efficiently operate the City of Hobbs aquatics facilities.
  • Ensures the safety of all participants.
  • Completes other duties as assigned to promote the safety and operations of aquatic facilities.
  • Attends all in-service trainings in regards to safety and aquatics operations that Lifeguards are required to attend.
  • Follows and complies with all instructions given by supervisory staff and chain of command.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and displays appropriate conduct.
  • Creates positive relationships with the public, co-workers and supervisors and treats all aquatics customers respectfully.
  • Complies with work schedule and fulfills job responsibility commitments.
  • Completes job assignments in a conscientious and thorough manner.
  • Listens with comprehension and communicates accurately, clearly, and concisely to facilitate an efficient operation.
  • Complies with safety rules and appropriately maintains and uses equipment and material.
  • Maintains confidentiality of matters relating to the City at all times.
  • Demonstrates self-initiative in performing routine tasks as in accordance with standard operating procedures and standard operating guidelines.
  • Adherence to the published, assigned work shift schedule is required to be successful in this position.
  • Adheres to Laws, Department and Division policies and procedures and supports organization objectives.
