The Research Core Research Specialist is responsible for the daily operation, oversight, and coordination of a shared veterinary research core laboratory that supports multiple principal investigators (PIs) and research programs across the School of Veterinary Medicine. This position serves as a central resource for faculty, house officers, staff, students, and collaborators conducting clinical, translational, and foundational research involving domesticated animal species. The Core Research Specialist oversees laboratory operations, shared equipment and instrumentation, regulatory compliance, and research support activities. The individual will coordinate with multiple research groups simultaneously and play a critical role in maintaining efficient laboratory workflows, ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations, and supporting high-quality research outcomes. This position requires strong organizational, communication, technical, and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working with animals, research teams, and veterinary clients in a collaborative academic environment.
