About The Position

Corning is a world leader in glass, ceramic, and materials science innovation. Our Optical Communications segment has evolved into a comprehensive provider of optical solutions for the communications industry, serving both carrier and enterprise networks. This internship offers an opportunity to participate in teams or individually to resolve process or product issues, and to support process development or validation work in collaboration with technology, divisional engineering, or manufacturing teams.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Basic understanding of statistics
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
  • Be willing to work at the posted job location

  • Statistical software such as Minitab, JMP, etc
  • Engineering analysis software
  • CAD
  • Spanish a plus
  • Statistical tools such as statistical process control, hypothesis testing, sampling plans, capability analysis
  • Experimental design and analysis
  • Ability to engage leadership and peers.
  • Knowledge of optical connectors, including construction, assembly and performance measures

Responsibilities

  • Participate in teams or individually to resolve process issues or troubleshoot product issues.
  • Support process development work or process validation work working with technology, divisional engineering or manufacturing.
