About The Position

This role is responsible for carefully pulling, sorting, and packaging high value cores (HVC), including engines and transmissions. The position also involves responding to customer counter sales by receiving orders, pulling products, and delivering them to the sales counter. A key responsibility is efficiently and safely pulling parts from vehicles, including dismantling and removing hybrid batteries, catalytic converters, airbags, and other components. The role also includes staging HVC for pickups, potentially operating a forklift, loading trucks, and maintaining the orderliness of work areas. The individual must meet productivity guidelines and may use handheld devices for data entry and reporting. Compliance with company policies and procedures is expected, along with performing other assigned duties. A critical requirement is the ability to pull engines, transmissions, and other parts from the salvage yard.

Requirements

  • Hands-on automotive repair experience including engine and transmission removal.
  • Must complete required training.
  • Ability to use hand and electric tools.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Basic oral communication skills.
  • Ability to write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Ability to follow clear directions and procedures with little decision-making.
  • Ability to follow standard procedures.
  • Must be able to pull engines, transmissions, and other parts in the salvage yard.

  • High School Diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

  • Pull, sort, and package high value cores (HVC) such as engines and transmissions.
  • Respond to customer counter sales by receiving orders, pulling product, and taking it to the sales counter.
  • Efficiently pull parts in the salvage yard without causing damage.
  • Dismantle and remove hybrid batteries, catalytic converters, airbags, and other parts from vehicles safely.
  • Stage high value cores/parts for vendor or customer pickups.
  • Operate forklift and load trucks as required.
  • Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
  • Meet productivity guidelines.
  • Use handheld or similar devices to enter information and generate reports.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
