About The Position

The Core Modeling Engineer will join a centralized team that develops, supports, and improves Production Planning & Optimization LP models for manufacturing sites worldwide. We are looking for experienced individuals who will play key role in: Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing LP models to ensure they remain accurate, current, and fit‑for‑purpose for Economists. Partner with Manufacturing Site Engagement Leads to identify, investigate and analyze modeling opportunities that improve molecule management and profitability. Responsible for implementing LP model changes, including scoping, developing modeling solutions, evaluating expected economic impacts, and supporting the model Management of Change process. Train, coach and mentor Early-career Core Modeling Engineers in modeling, tools, techniques, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams - including Economists, Model Validation, Derived Modeling, and Process Engineering - to deliver profitability‑focused model enhancements. Collaborate and contribute to companywide modeling & optimization network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree / MSc. / MEng in Chemical Engineering.
  • More than 5 years of Refinery/Petrochemical manufacturing experience, including some optimization experience (e.g. modeling, scheduling, economist)
  • Experience in optimization tools (e.g., LP models) and manufacturing economics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural global team
  • Inquiry based mindset to understand and extract key messages to drive opportunities and path forward
