About The Position

The Core Maker position requires good vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination. The individual must be able to follow written work instructions, multitask, and meet production goals and deadlines. Team orientation, good communication skills, and great attention to detail are essential. This role involves significant physical demands, including lifting up to 50lbs regularly, gripping, pushing, and pulling with 80lb strength regularly, and generating 15lbs of pinch strength on occasion. The position also requires the ability to perform elevated work occasionally, stand on concrete for up to 8 hours, and be willing to cross-train within the classification. Adherence to all safety rules and the use of required personal protective equipment are mandatory. The role may require working any shift and maintaining a clean workstation and equipment.

  • Ability to make quality cores by following work instructions and communicating with engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Make smaller pieces using good fine motor skills.
  • Identify the differences in sand used in each core.
  • Work with an inhibitor.
  • Learn to work on a 240, 250, 450, or C3 rollover machine for the largest cores.
  • Use a mixer and hydraulic equipment.
  • Provide communication and support to the pattern shop on pattern boxes.
  • Make quality cores by following work instructions and communicating with the engineering team.
