What You Will Do: Reporting to the Director of Operational Excellence, the CORE Leader, Operational Excellence will champion the Pratt & Whitney CORE Operating System across the factory. In close partnership with site leadership, this role will coach, mentor, and guide teams at all levels to accelerate CORE maturity, strengthen operational discipline, and deliver meaningful business results. The Associate Director will serve as a strategic thought partner and hands‑on change agent, ensuring CORE principles are embedded into daily operations and long‑term strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 12 or more years' experience in a continuous improvement/process improvement, manufacturing operations management, program/project management or related industrial environment OR a Master's degree and 10 or more years’ experience in a continuous improvement/process improvement, manufacturing operations management, program/project management or related industrial environment
  • Proven ability working with, coaching, motivating, and influencing others.
  • Experience supporting large scale continuous improvement initiatives across functions.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently, while delivering on executive leadership expectations.
  • CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) Apprentice Certification or Lean, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, Six-Sigma training and experience

Nice To Haves

  • MBA
  • Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience working with Solumina, MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Shape and deploy the factory‑level strategy to advance CORE Operating System maturity, ensuring alignment and engagement across all levels of leadership.
  • Drive transformational CORE initiatives that reshape operational performance and culture, leveraging methodologies such as Goal Alignment, Tier Accountability, CORE Control Operationalization, RCCA, Value Stream Mapping, Lean Cell Design, 5S, TPM, and Set‑Up Reduction to unlock sustainable improvements and accelerate business outcomes
  • Own the planning and execution of CORE Leadership Week, ensuring robust benefits realization and sustained follow‑through.
  • Drive implementation and continuous improvement of the Standard Production System (SPS) across the factory, meeting or exceeding RTX expectations.
  • Achieve and maintain CORE Control Room maturity standards, ensuring strong performance management and visual accountability.
  • Establish and uphold standards for tier meetings, visual management, shop‑floor communication, and GEMBA practices.
  • Design, deliver, and continuously improve CORE training programs for all levels of the organization, building capability and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance development for CORE/Lean practitioners, building a high‑performing group that delivers consistent, scalable operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring the team is aligned to strategic priorities and empowered to drive transformation across the factory.
