Core Financial Analyst

Brown Brothers Harriman•Boston, MA
•$65,000 - $90,000

About The Position

The Core Financial Analyst is an opportunity to move beyond recurring journal entries and reconciliations into work that reaches the most senior levels of the Firm. This unique project-based role combines accounting policy initiatives with the development of industry expertise in insurance and risk management, real estate and lease accounting, pension and 401(k) accounting and audits, and ad-hoc financial analysis. Rather than owning a single narrow process, you will develop a broad understanding of how a global firm's finances operate — including the general ledger and accounts payable functions — and present your work directly to the CFO and the Firm's Audit Committee. The role reports into the Controllers function, to the Vice President leading the Projects Team. You will work with colleagues within the department along with other business lines throughout the firm. We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical accounting foundation, sound analytical judgment, and the ambition to increase their expertise and responsibilities over time. Early ownership: Manage external audits, prepare financial statements, and help shape accounting policy Exceptional breadth: Four distinct disciplines: benefit plans, real estate, insurance, and special projects, within a single role Senior-level visibility: Present directly to the CFO and the Firm's Audit Committee A platform for growth: Designed for high performers ready to build on their public accounting foundation
