About The Position

This role supports the Program Director, Program Administrator, and faculty in managing the educational, clinical, and scholarly activities of the program. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining the curriculum and lecture series; fostering a strong learning environment for fellows and other trainees; supporting fellow recruitment and orientation; and advancing the program’s scholarly work. The position offers a unique opportunity to help build an integrated training program that brings together Family Medicine, OB/GYN, and Psychiatry to support comprehensive rural maternal health care, including perinatal mental health and surgical obstetrics. The role emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered care grounded in evidence-based practice and patient safety, while serving a diverse patient population across all backgrounds and identities.

Requirements

  • Required completion of family medicine OR OB/GYN residency training
  • MN Licensure or licensure eligibility
  • Board certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or Board certification by American Board of Family Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians; paired with certification by the Board of Family Medicine Obstetrics
  • Required to be an active member of the (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) ACOG or AAFP (American Academy of Family Physicians)
  • ACLS

  • Preferred three years experience as a physician practicing maternity care with C-sections

Responsibilities

  • Support compliance with Board of Certification in Family Medicine Obstetrics (BCFMO) training requirements and CentraCare institutional policies.
  • Participate in program administration and serve on fellowship education, clinical competency, and program evaluation committees.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, implementation, and revision, including support of rotations and electives.
  • Provide teaching and clinical education through lectures, workshops, simulation, and bedside precepting.
  • Support fellow recruitment, selection, orientation, evaluation, and ongoing feedback processes.
  • Serve as a faculty advisor, promoting fellow wellness, professionalism, fair evaluation, and a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • Engage in clinical care, scholarly activity, faculty development, and relationship-building with community partners and training sites, while supporting program leadership as needed.
