Core Coil Assembler - 1st Shift

Eaton Corporation•Nacogdoches, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

The Core Coil Assembler uses defined procedures, bill of materials, and equipment to assemble various sizes of transformers and related sub-assemblies, rework damaged/ defective components, and complete assemblies. In this function, you will execute tasks across various centers, including bake oven, coil hot press, core/clamp, Turn-to-Turn (T.T.R) testing/hookup, low voltage welding/finishing, lead press, and stacking. Assemble transformer cores and related sub-assemblies by adhering to customer specifications, blueprints, bills of material, visual operating procedures, standardized procedures, and prescribed methods (NFOI). Load cores and coils onto the stacking line and stack the core around the legs of the coils. Stack units onto pallets, ensuring alignment with corresponding order numbers. Label units with order numbers and apply steel banding straps to secure the assembly. Build sub-assemblies per OPS and quality standards required for final assembly, utilizing calibrated tools. Operate a TIG welder to weld low voltage leads and crossovers, and follow low voltage and high voltage hookup diagrams to complete all assembly connections. Test each finished unit for proper ratio and secure connections using a TTR Tester, troubleshooting any issues identified during the testing phase. Perform rework on damaged or defective component parts/complete assemblies to ensure quality standards are met. Transport racks of finished assemblies to designated storage areas using a work saver. Identify and scan units based on the shipping schedule to generate data for oven loading sequences. Weld lead assemblies as required for future orders, using scheduling documents and bills of materials. Conduct routine maintenance on tools and equipment. Utilize various manual and power-operated hand tools and heavy machinery, including forklifts, screw guns, air ratchet tools, welding machines, hand crimp tools, hammers, pallet jacks, hydraulic presses, air crimp tools, electric/air hoists, multi-lam cutting machines, single lead cutting machines, and powered industrial trucks. Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization. Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals. Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures. Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.
