About The Position

The Core Banking Systems & Applications Manager oversees the administration, support, enhancement, and strategic optimization of Apple Bank's core consumer banking technology platforms, including the core banking system, teller platform, and customer relationship management (CRM) system. Serving as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology partners, this role ensures systems effectively support operational, regulatory, and customer experience objectives. The position leads system upgrades, technology enhancements, testing initiatives, year-end core processing activities, business continuity exercises, and consumer banking projects, driving operational efficiency, system reliability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, finance, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant work background will be considered.
  • 6 + years in banking operations, project management, core banking systems administration, business systems analysis, or a similar function.
  • Experience supporting core banking applications such as Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, or comparable systems.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with vendors and supporting technology initiatives within a financial institution.
  • Proven ability to lead system testing, implementations, upgrades, and operational improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of retail banking operations, deposit systems, and customer servicing processes.
  • Knowledge of core banking platforms, teller systems, CRM applications, and related banking technologies.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system specifications and practical technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in system testing methodologies, change management practices, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support designated core banking applications, including teller systems, CRM platforms, and related consumer banking technologies.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for assigned applications, ensuring optimal system performance, functionality, and user adoption.
  • Coordinate system maintenance, upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Maintain application documentation, workflows, procedures, and system controls.
  • Lead all year-end core banking system activities, including planning, coordination, execution, and validation.
  • Partner with technology teams, vendors, finance, compliance, and operational departments to ensure successful year-end processing.
  • Monitor critical deadlines, resolve issues, and ensure regulatory and operational requirements are met.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned.
  • Lead business testing efforts for core banking application upgrades, enhancements, and new product implementations.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and validation procedures to ensure system functionality and accuracy.
  • Serve as a key contributor to Consumer Banking Division projects involving process improvements, automation, system integrations, and technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business units and technology teams throughout project lifecycles, from requirements gathering through implementation and post-production support.
  • Engage with frontline and back-office users to understand operational challenges, system limitations, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend technology solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer service.
  • Act as the primary liaison between end users, operational teams, IT, and third-party vendors.
  • Provide user training, guidance, and support for system functionality and process changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate manual processes, and maximize application capabilities.
  • Ensure systems and processes comply with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor system controls, data integrity, and operational risks associated with assigned applications.
  • Support audit requests, documentation reviews, and compliance examinations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
