About The Position

Jerry.ai is seeking a Copywriter to fundamentally change how the company communicates with its customers. The role involves shifting messaging from transactional to value-additive and relationship-driven, focusing on building trust and engagement. The Copywriter will be the voice of Jerry, crafting communications across various channels including email, SMS, in-app messages, and potentially social media. The goal is to make car ownership, a typically stressful topic, more accessible and to cultivate an enduring community around the brand.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in creative marketing with a heavy focus on copywriting.
  • Proven success with email and SMS campaigns.
  • Experience working with consumer startups.
  • A portfolio showcasing both writing and creative craft.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Ability to translate complex, dry, and even stressful topics (car insurance, loans, repairs) into copy that is engaging, human, and accessible.
  • Deep expertise in copywriting, audience development, and product positioning.
  • A good sense of the social media landscape and community dynamics (like Reddit).
  • Ability to take qualitative data and user pain points and turn them into resonant, empathetic marketing copy.
  • Experience in fast-growing startups and ability to champion brand experience.

Responsibilities

  • Overhaul existing customer communications, including CRM, email, SMS, and in-app copy.
  • Transform messaging from functional and direct to value-additive and relationship-driven.
  • Understand how to build trust, engagement, and drive long-tail conversion in close collaboration with Product, Design, Growth, and Customer Insights teams.
  • Expand scope to drive customer growth and build brand affinity through producing other creative organic content, such as social media, as the tone of voice takes shape and lifecycle campaigns show success.
  • Define the brand's personality and voice across all organic surfaces in partnership with the CEO.
  • Personally write email campaigns, draft in-app tooltips, and engage with drivers on platforms like Reddit.
  • Translate complex, dry, and stressful topics (car insurance, loans, repairs) into engaging, human, and accessible copy.
  • Use qualitative data and user pain points to create resonant, empathetic marketing copy.
  • Champion the unmeasurable value of a great brand experience within a data-first team.
