About The Position

We’re looking for a curious, sharp-thinking Copywriter Intern who’s eager to learn how great ideas become real campaigns. In this role, you’ll collaborate with writers, strategists, designers, creative leads and video producers to craft compelling messages across a range of channels—including, but not limited to social media, digital display, print and digital collateral, blog posts, website copy and video scripts. You’ll help concept ideas, write and refine copy, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced agency environment where strategy and creativity go hand in hand. If you love language, pay attention to the details, and aren’t afraid to think a little differently, you’ll fit right in. This in-office position is located in Birmingham, AL.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Strong writing skills with a clear, engaging, and concise voice.
  • Ability to adapt tone and style across different brands, audiences, and platforms.
  • A portfolio or writing samples demonstrating creative thinking and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of advertising, branding, and marketing principles.
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and iterate quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail, including grammar, spelling, and proofreading.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working with cross-functional teams (designers, strategists, etc.).
  • Interest in pop culture, trends, and emerging platforms.
  • Proficiency in tools like Google Docs, Microsoft Word, or similar writing platforms.
  • Positive attitude, curiosity, and a strong desire to grow as a writer.

Responsibilities

  • Execute copy needs across clients, including but not limited to: social media, digital display, print and digital collateral, blog posts, website copy, video scripts, and campaign deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Team to turn ideas into words.
  • Create strategy-based copy that is creatively sound while also meeting clients’ goals and objectives.
  • Become well-versed in our client’s businesses and competitive landscapes to inform the creative solutions we propose.
  • Study and understand our client’s brands and brand voices to become a true extension of their team and help ensure we are executing on brand.
  • Collaborate with creative team members in concepting for campaigns and other high-level client initiatives.
  • Execute copy needs for Telegraph’s internal and external communications.
  • Be a voice for creative social strategies to help build brands to their utmost potential.
