About The Position

This role is based in Princeton, NJ and will require the candidate’s presence in the office three days a week. The Copyright and Contracts Administrator will coordinate all aspects of the copyright registration process for a division of the Company. This includes ordering books for registration, collecting information for filing with the US Copyright Office, maintaining accurate reporting records, and coordinating with various teams to ensure proper registration. The role also involves updating and maintaining the Company’s Title Management System, performing administrative duties for the Legal and Contract departments, and referring or responding to general inquiries regarding contracts. Additionally, the administrator will review and process payments and any changes to payments. HarperCollins Publishers is a company full of people who are passionate about books. Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in maintaining files
  • Detail oriented; focus on organization; able to maintain extensive tracking records; self-starter able to balance multiple high-level tasks simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Publishing company experience and knowledge of book contracts and copyrights a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of copyright registration process for a division of the Company, including ordering books for registration, collecting information necessary to file forms with the US Copyright Office, maintaining accurate reporting records of registrations, coordinating with editorial, production and other teams as necessary to ensure proper registration, and other tasks associated with the registration process.
  • Various responsibilities as part of a team responsible for updating and maintaining Company’s Title Management System.
  • Perform administrative duties for Legal and Contract departments, including organizing, creating, maintaining and inputting data into databases and spreadsheets.
  • Refer or respond to general inquiries regarding contracts and other matters.
  • Review and process payments and any changes to payments.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
