About The Position

The Copy Cataloging Student Assistant supports the library's Technical Services unit by locating, importing, and editing existing bibliographic records and by helping maintain the accuracy of the catalog. During Summer, this position will focus heavily on the Children's collection weeding (deselection) project, assisting with the review, withdrawal, and record cleanup of materials being removed from the collection. Work is performed under the supervision of the Collections and Cataloging Librarian. This position is well suited to a careful, detail-oriented student who enjoys methodical, precise, and sometimes repetitive work where accuracy matters. The library currently uses OCLC WorldShare Management Services (WMS) and will migrate to EBSCO's FOLIO platform in January 2027. The student should be adaptable and willing to learn a new library services platform during their employment.
