About The Position

Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants. Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTEP) is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP. Ensures compliance with TTUHSC El Paso Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and other accrediting and regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission, NCQA and URAC and DNV. Coordinates in the credentialing process for the medical staff, allied health professionals and temporary privileges. Enters accurate and up to date data of new providers into the credentialing database to include, but not limited to, demographic and personal information, education/training, licensure, DEA, liability information, board certification status, NPI numbers, ECFMG certifications, etc. Ensures credentialing file is complete and accurately verified along with all required documentation prior to view of the Credentialing Committee. Ensures that all expired credentials are reviewed, obtained, and managed on a timely basis according to the credentialing policy and procedures. Ensures a timely and accurate preparation of the FPPE evaluation for providers that requested new and additional privileges. May attend, take minutes and participate in Credentials Committee meeting as directed. Maintains confidentiality of all business/work and medical staff information. Assists the Credentialing Services Managing Director and Manager in ensuring compliance with relevant Joint Commission Standards. Participates in regulatory survey preparation as well as the actual survey. Participates in the development and implementation of credentialing policy and procedures. Remain current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience.
  • Additional related education may exchange for required experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree desired.
  • Demonstrated understanding of credentialing accreditation standards (i.e., Joint Commission, NCQA, URAC, etc.).
  • Demonstrated understanding on initial credentialing and re-credentialing practices for medical professionals including primary source verification methods, and compliance monitoring.
