About The Position

The Coordinator of Student Engagement, under general supervision, organizes, administers, supervises, and evaluates comprehensive education, preventive, and recreational programs that meet the social, integrative, and holistic needs of students. The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. The Texas A&M University System mission is to provide education, conduct research, commercialize technology, offer training, and deliver services for the people of Texas and beyond. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of experience either working with students, student development programs, coordinating events, or equivalent experience or 1 year of experience with Master's Degree.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work with sensitive Information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, advises, and oversees student organizations.
  • Co-Advises the Engaging RELLIS Academic Alliance Students (ERAAS) Committee.
  • Plans events, seminars, workshops, and activities such as Fall & Spring Festivals, career readiness, and mental health awareness. Assists with major activities and events across departments of RELLIS Academic Alliance. Collaborates with Blinn personnel on delivery of events.
  • Plans and hosts semesterly Career Fairs for RAA students. Coordinates with Career Services Committee to establish and maintain relationships with third-party employers.
  • Collaborates with the Writing Center to provide co-sponsored events related to career readiness.
  • Oversees the planning of campus events by student workers such as RELLIS Recharge and RELLIS House Events.
  • Ensures that student organizations and events are in alignment with Federal, State, and university laws and policies through risk management and student leadership training.
  • Coordinates promotion of events and events calendar and assist with social media with Associate Director of Student Affairs and Student Success and Communication Specialists.
  • Oversees the Office of Student Life, provides positive campus community relations, maintains accurate participation and financial records for programs and activities.
  • May serve as a representative on RELLIS committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
