Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, AND: 12 months of experience in student programming, student services, or closely related fields.
  • Equivalency/Substitution: We will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months of related experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, composition, and proofreading skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including navigating and maintaining databases.
  • Proven ability to build rapport with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong analytical skills to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Case Management & Hearing Authority: Serve as a University Hearing Officer and/or primary investigator for both individual student and student organizational conduct cases.
  • Conflict Resolution: Facilitate alternative dispute resolution, including organizing and leading informal resolution gatherings and dialogues (e.g., scheduling, monitoring referrals, arranging spaces, facilitating).
  • System Oversight: Maintain and monitor the student conduct database system, ensuring meticulous case progression tracking, auditing sanction completion, and managing student conduct holds.
  • Training & Compliance: Facilitate comprehensive training sessions for campus hearing officers and other university constituents on conduct policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure continuous compliance with federal and state regulations and reporting mandates (e.g., Title IX, Clery Act, Stop Campus Hazing Act).
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with Housing, law enforcement, medical professionals, Student Life, Student Government and Organization Services, faculty/staff, and other officials regarding student conduct and crisis matters.
  • Research & Assessment: Research, develop, and implement best practices for conduct administration, and monitor assessment tools for the office.
