About The Position

Directly partners with Prevention Services to support schools and educators to build sustainable supports, systems and capacity to move toward equitable outcomes for all students. Provides best practices, coaching, consultation, training and direct classroom support to reduce the number of students exhibiting behavioral and discipline challenges that center Black Excellence, are restorative and trauma informed, and lead to dramatic and sustained improvements in learning by creating safe and welcoming climate and culture.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
One or more years managing programs and processes in an educational setting.
Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

Provides technical consultation and guidance to school teams to identify the application of Positive School Culture, Trauma-Informed Practices, Restorative Practices, Equitable Behavior Supports, Discipline, and prevention programs to support the needs of all students.
Provides guidance to school leadership in building a culture of belonging and identifying systems that impact the learning community.
Educate and empower school administration, instructional leadership teams, restorative practice coordinators, paraprofessionals, deans, educators and other school based staff through regular, data-driven conversations focusing on improving discipline outcomes and eliminating disproportionate practices.
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of student discipline data in specific schools, compile and distribute appropriate program data to schools and district leadership to inform and support school and network success.
Collaborate with teams such as Culture, Equity, and Leadership Team, Bully Prevention, Whole Child, Special Education, and Family and Community Engagement to create new systems that are sustainable
Implements strategies to engage families, community members and DPS departmental leadership.
Help develop and implement a training plan that effectively implements components to support the improvement the adult experiences by building skills, giving sources, and using tools.
Collaborate in monthly meetings and facilitate ongoing communications among team members to discuss best practices and strategies for reaching organizational, program and individual goals.
Identify process problems of practice and provide proactive coaching while creating systematic sustainability and capacity building through research based practices.
Assist in designing and facilitating professional development for school-based and central office staff and intentionally develop scope and sequences for long-term, cumulative training.
