About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, materials handling, laboratory operations, supply chain, customer service, or related fields.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Technical problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or research laboratory environment.
  • Experience with biological sample management, including proteins, nucleic acids, and cell lines.
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Citrix, ChemSW, inventory management platforms, and related systems.
  • Understanding of hazardous material handling and shipping requirements.
  • Spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right-to-Know training.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Hamilton Verso and Saturn automation platforms.
  • Knowledge of scientific products and laboratory services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain DNA, protein, cell, and laboratory material inventories.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities.
  • Process inventory movements, sample requests, and material transfers both on-site and off-site.
  • Track inventory utilization trends and provide data-driven reporting to stakeholders.
  • Lead protein, nucleic acid, and cell inventory quality control (QC) and distribution activities.
  • Implement and maintain procedures to ensure accurate sample information and inventory integrity.
  • Facilitate the transfer of proteins, cells, and nucleic acid materials into automation-compatible vessels for downstream use.
  • Evaluate the quality of proteins, nucleic acids, and cell samples using: HPLC, FPLC, UV/Absorbance Analysis, Gel Electrophoresis, Mass Spectrometry, Cell Expression, Titer Testing, Sterility Testing, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Endotoxin Testing.
  • Analyze assay results and identify quality deviations.
  • Perform buffer exchanges, formulations, and material regeneration activities when required.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and documentation of experiments, protocols, and observations.
  • Support laboratory automation systems and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical and automation-related issues to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Assist in maintaining continuity of automated inventory processes.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for inventory-related inquiries.
  • Support purchasing activities including: Backorder management, Quote requests, Vendor coordination, Invoice resolution, Expediting shipments.
