About The Position

The Coordinator-RN Peds works under the supervision of the Senior Nurse Manager and Clinic Supervisor. This role assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of various pediatric patient populations including Allergy/Pulmonary, Nephrology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and Cardiology, General Pediatrics and/or Pediatric and Adult Medicine. The position integrates RN nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and management (planning, organizing, directing, and controlling) to provide services and continuity of care. The role utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics within the RN Scope of Practice and has authority and accountability for coordinating pre-admission and post-hospital care. Other duties as needed will be performed.

Requirements

• Associate of Science Degree in Nursing required.
• Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.
• Use computer and software programs necessary to the position.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.

• Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required.
• Valid driver's license required at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
• Experience in clinical research preferred.
• Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Management of the Pediatric Allergy/Pulmonary, Nephrology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and Cardiology, General Pediatrics and/or Pediatric and Adult Medicine patient population on an ongoing basis.
• Integration of RN nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) and management (planning, organizing, directing and controlling) to provide services and continuity of care for the patient.
• Utilizing knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics in order to perform duties within the RN Scope of Practice.
• Coordinating pre-admission and post hospital care.
• Performing other duties as needed.
