Supports the Parks and Recreation Engagement Team in engaging the public on capital projects. This role involves initiating the planning and organizing of virtual and in-person public meetings, workshops, and open houses, including providing tech and facilitation support, and setting up/taking down equipment and materials. The coordinator will also plan, organize, and facilitate meetings with the public, senior staff, consultants, and Toronto Councillors. Responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining documents related to public engagement events, such as preparing presentation materials, developing surveys, and preparing minutes. The role ensures provincially mandated requirements are met, including developing AODA-compliant summary reports. Additionally, the coordinator will respond to public and staff inquiries via phone and email, train staff on presentation strategies, alert senior staff to public concerns, draft public reports, and interact with divisional staff, other city divisions, and Toronto Councillors on project-related issues.
