About The Position
The Coordinator – Pellet Plant Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operating activities within the pellet plant to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, and safety. This role will lead and coordinate the operations team, including quality, and pellet transportation. The coordinator will work closely with the maintenance, engineering, and health & safety teams to support plant performance and meet production targets. Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience in heavy industry (pellet plant experience preferred)
- Proven experience leading operations teams and managing work orders and schedules
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with management of contractors during pellet plant construction, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and according to project specifications
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel in daily preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks within the pellet plant
- Ensure timely execution of maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity
- Develop and manage budgets for areas of responsibility
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability; initiate actions for repairs, replacements, or improvements as required
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to align maintenance priorities with production demands
- Develop and implement operating procedures and best practices in line with company policies and safety standards
- Maintain records of operating activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory
- Schedule and coordinate pellet transportation through rail to storage facilities and customers
- Liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance work, inspections, and audits
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive maintenance among team members
