About The Position

Wingate University is seeking an Assistant Mail Coordinator to support the Mail Coordinator in the daily operations of the campus mailroom. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate handling of mail and packages for students, faculty, and staff. Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling mail and package information
  • Great communication skills and customer service skills in a campus environment
  • Ability to lift and move packages (up to approximately 40 lbs)
  • Ability to stand or walk for portions of the workday
  • Proficient with office computer technology
  • Ability to learn the Pitney Bowes platform and basic Excel software
  • Pass Mail truck driving requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
  • Assign mail and packages to lockers or shelves in the PawPost.
  • Maintain organized work areas.
  • Assist with ordering or replenishing mailroom supplies as directed.
  • Prepare and process outgoing mail and shipments according to carrier guidelines.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to students, staff, and faculty.
  • Operate all mailroom equipment.
  • Call Pitney Bowes for maintenance needs.
  • Work over regular work hours during peak times and half a day after Christmas during the holiday season to pick up, sort, and deliver mail to the Cashiers and Advancement offices.
