About The Position

The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology is seeking a self-motivated, organized, adaptable, and personable individual to join our administrative team as the Coordinator of Student & Graduate Services. This role will primarily work with faculty and graduate students, but will also engage undergraduate students interested in Chemistry research and graduate studies through outreach and marketing materials. The department has over four dozen graduate students and three undergraduate majors.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
At least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree
Two years experience working with UNM systems in an academic setting

Responsibilities

Ensuring graduate student contracts are completed within University and union timelines
Assist Graduate studies committee with navigation of graduate studies application platforms
Generate offer letters for accepted graduate students
Develop and implement departmental graduate student orientation
Advise graduate students on departmental degree requirements, class registration, PI selection, Graduate Studies expectations, GEO guidelines, and other needs
Complete workflows for departmental awards/scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students
Work with the Integrated Education and Research Committee and Graduate Studies Committee to develop recruitment plans, materials, events
Work with the Integrated Education and Research Committee and Graduate Studies Committee to develop career services activities.
Other duties and administrative support needs as part of the administrative team as needed.
