About The Position

The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Outreach plays a vital role in fostering a vibrant campus community by developing and implementing initiatives that engage students in meaningful experiences outside of the classroom. This position will work collaboratively with various departments within the Student Engagement Collective to promote a culture of involvement, leadership, and personal growth. Working closely with the Assistant Director for Student Engagement & Outreach, the Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates engagement initiatives that promote student involvement, leadership development, and personal growth through HogSync (the campus experience management platform), and various student engagement initiatives. This position will supervise & mentor undergraduate students serving in various leadership positions. In addition, the Program Coordinator will research and identify current trends in student development and engagement programs for implementation at the University of Arkansas. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Experience planning and implementing programs or events for students
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn University policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Skill in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Skills in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Skilled in using computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty, staff, and students
  • Ability to develop objectives, evaluate effectiveness, and assess needs
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity or experience with university student engagement platforms (ie. Campus Groups, Anthology, etc.)
  • Higher Education planning and implementing programs for undergraduate college students
  • Direct experience developing and evaluating student engagement programs, leadership development programs, and/or events
  • Experience supervising or mentoring undergraduate students
