About The Position

The Migrant Program Coordinator is an exempt, grant-funded position located at the Migrant Center/Booth Building. This role operates on a 260-day work year, with 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The salary range for this position is $86,602 - $102,856 for the 2025-2026 school year, based on qualifications and experience. New hires are conditional upon passing a fingerprint screening.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful experience in developing and providing services to culturally and ethnically diverse students and/or families in a school setting.
  • Bilingual/biliterate Spanish/English
  • Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships with staff, students, patrons, and community
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours
  • Knowledge of, and ability to understand and implement, local policies and procedures, and federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to customer service, collaboration, and identifying solutions to support positive student outcomes
  • Ability to think divergently.
  • Proven record of working cooperatively with district administration and staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products with strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, produce quality work product, and act in accordance with expectations of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating the district's Migrant Education Program to ensure equitable access and improved outcomes for eligible students.
  • Manages the district's federal Migrant Education Program grant, including program planning, budgeting, compliance, reporting, and monitoring of state and federal requirements, in partnership with the Assistant Superintendent or designee.
  • Supervises and supports all migrant staff to ensure high-quality program implementation.
  • Plans and facilitates regular meetings with program staff in coordination with the supervisor to promote collaboration, professional learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with building administrators and district leaders to coordinate services, address student needs, and ensure alignment with district priorities.
  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships with OSPI, Educational Service Districts, neighboring school districts, and community organizations to strengthen services and opportunities for migrant students and families.
  • Coordinates parent and family engagement activities related to the Migrant Education Program and other assigned special programs.
  • Monitors program documentation, including time-and-effort reporting, student records, and other required compliance measures.
  • Interprets district goals, program objectives, and available services to students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Attends district, regional, and state meetings, trainings, and professional learning related to migrant education and special programs.
  • Manages special projects and performs other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or designee.
