This position will serve youth from ages 0-26 in the Highbridge community (but primarily focused on adolescents) who are court involved with mental and behavioral health needs. Exclusionary criteria include Mental Retardation and active or untreated substance abuse. The JJ coordinator provides clinical treatment for court-involved youth and their families as needed, up to .4 FTE schedule (14 hours a week). The JJ coordinator demonstrates understanding and competency in mental health diagnoses and use of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) Must be proficient in utilizing evidenced-based practices including TF-CBT and DBT. The JJ coordinator explores client’s understanding of their problem; assists in clarifying the current impact of the problem for client, family and referral source if applicable. The JJ coordinator understands and employs the mental status exam as an initial and ongoing tool for treatment. The JJ coordinator demonstrates the ability to assess and follow protocol for High-Risk clients. The JJ coordinator collaborates and participates in multi-disciplinary teams at all Bronx clinics to provide support to clinicians regarding court involved youth. The JJ coordinator provides consultation with clinicians, collateral contacts, community agencies and resources to ensure comprehensive treatment and support for court-involved clients and their family. The JJ coordinator demonstrates willingness to provide feedback when asked about quality of services and maintains consistent communication with collaborating providers in order to provide the best quality of services to meet the client’s needs. The JJ coordinator shows willingness and leadership in adapting to changing policies, protocols, and clinical documentation. The JJ coordinator represents the agency in a professional and positive manner while promoting core values of the agency. The JJ coordinator will complete all necessary clinical documentation in a timely manner. The JJ coordinator will collect, analyze, and complete monthly reports and complete all reporting requirements to NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene on contract issues.
