About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator of Graduate Academic Services and Degree Completion - Boca Raton, FL. The Coordinator of Graduate Academic Services and Degree Completion plays a vital role in supporting graduate student success and ensuring timely, accurate degree certification across the university. Serving as a central liaison among the Graduate College, academic colleges, faculty, staff, and graduate students, this position manages high‑volume inquiries, complex degree audits, academic policy compliance, and essential system workflows. The role requires strong analytical abilities, sound independent judgment, a solid command of graduate academic policies, and the capacity to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Working under the direction of Graduate College leadership, the coordinator leads key operational processes, maintains accuracy across multiple student systems, and upholds full alignment with university standards.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and graduate students regarding graduate academic services, degree completion, academic policies, and procedural requirements.
  • Independently establish departmental priorities and action items to meet institutional graduation timelines and graduate degree certification deadlines.
  • Manage the review, processing, and completion of graduate degree applications, including degree auditing and final degree certification.
  • Ensure all academic services and degree completion processes comply with university graduate degree requirements, academic policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage and oversee workflows for Graduate College forms and processes, including university waiver requests, academic progression plans, and applications for degree.
  • Utilize and maintain Banner, degree planning and tracking systems, Freevo, EdVision OnBase, and other platforms to support academic services, document management, and compliance.
  • Resolve MyPOS system technical and functional issues for students, faculty, and staff, including updating program, evaluator, and compliance settings.
  • Participate in and support the implementation, testing, and transition to the EdVision graduate degree tracking and planning platform, assisting with both technical and procedural aspects.
  • Monitor and manage various Graduate College email inboxes, responding to a high volume of inquiries daily with accuracy, professionalism, and timely follow-up.
  • Act as the liaison between Graduate Academic Services and Degree Completion and the eight academic colleges to ensure consistent interpretation and application of graduate academic policies and procedures.
  • Communicate complex academic policies, degree requirements, and system processes clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators across colleges.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in all degree audits, certifications, and academic service decisions.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and support timely degree completion.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with FERPA and university policies.
  • Assists Degree Completion staff with graduate student events, receptions, and graduate student training workshops.
  • Serves in liaison roles within the University to promote and enhance graduate education at the University.
  • Assists with graduation commencement events held at the Graduate College.
  • Performs other job-related responsibilities as assigned by the Graduate Dean.
