About The Position

Under the direction from the Program Director, Neurophysiology with medical director oversight, the Coordinator, Neurophysiology supports clinical and administrative functions of inpatient and outpatient/ambulatory areas including but not limited to EMU/EEG/EMG/NCS/EP across adult and pediatric populations. The Coordinator, Neurophysiology is accountable to comply with departmental guidelines and accepted neurophysiology care practices and assumes responsibility and accountability for coordinating neurophysiology services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in health care related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressive clinical experience performing complex neurodiagnostic procedures in newborn/neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patient populations within the hospital, EMU, ICU and/or outpatient setting required.
  • Two (2) years clinical preceptor/supervisory and/or leadership experience required in clinical neurophysiology or related fields including but not limited to electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM), long-term monitoring (LTM), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and/or polysomnography (PSG).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Must hold two (2) of the following credentials in neurodiagnostic technology / clinical neurophysiology which can include but is not limited to: REEGT, REPT, CLTM, NA-CLTM, CNIM, CAP, CMEG, RNCST, RPSGT, and/or DABNM a. ABRET (Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation) b. AAET (The Nerve Conduction Association) c. BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists) d. ABNM (American Board of Neurophysiologic Monitoring).
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and complex decision making, critical thinking, ability to motivate and supervise others.
  • Proficiency with use of databases, office software, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and strategize.
  • EMR experience required (Epic preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and distributes monthly staffing schedule ensuring patient access and throughput.
  • Responsible for traveler/agency technologist screening, vetting and obtaining any leadership approvals for traveler staff.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and professional development as evidenced by direct supervision and feedback.
  • Supports clinical operations as needed to ensure continuity of staffing.
  • Coordinates and supports Neurophysiology Safety and Quality Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned based on business and clinical need per the discretion of the Program Director, Neurophysiology.
