About The Position

Coordinator Health Information, Health Information Management. This is a Full Time position working 80 Hours Per Pay Period on the Day Shift. Position Summary: Analyzes individual electronic reports to determine if the required documentation elements are present. Notifies physicians of any missing elements. Responsible for corrections in system and notification to appropriate clinical or IT groups to help with source systems.

Requirements

Three (3) years’ experience in a health information role.

Nice To Haves

Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Identifies when required documentation is missing from an electronic medical record.
Notifies appropriate clinical staff when missing information is identified.
Reviews deficiencies that were assigned by the system for accuracy and corrects if needed.
Reviews multiple patient types and the documentation requirements for each.
Interprets visit histories and how the history impacts the documentation requirements.
Identifies and analyzes trends in complex charts and in groups of charts for process improvement.
Works with IT source systems as they integrate with the systems and manage the patient information accordingly.
Notifies the appropriate clinical or IT group of corrections.
Responsible for corrections made in the system as a result of errors in registration, clinical errors, and moving documents to a surviving account when two accounts are combined.
Responsible for interpreting medical staff rules and regulations for each facility in order to apply correct criteria for services from that particular facility.
Assists in the training of new employees.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Completes required education assignments annually.
Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
