The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is seeking a full-time Outreach Coordinator for Preschool Special Education. The mission of Special Education and Intervention Services in CMSD is to ensure appropriate services and support for all children with special needs and their families in every school, so that all students graduate from high school prepared for college, careers, and fulfilling adult lives. The Outreach Coordinator serves CMSD’s Preschool Assessment Clinic to ensure that young children transitioning from community-based services have access to special education preschool services by their third birthdays. Under the direction of the Director, the Outreach Coordinator is the primary liaison between Bright Beginnings and the Preschool Assessment Clinic staff. He/she communicates with service providers and families, schedules meetings, and participates in conferences to ensure a smooth and timely transition to preschool services. CMSD has maintained 100% compliance with transition timelines in the past years, and we are seeking a team member to support this ongoing work. In addition, the Outreach Coordinator will assist the Director with ensuring that all CMSD special education preschool classrooms earn the highest possible rating on Ohio’s “Step Up to Quality” early childhood improvement system. This is a versatile role with advancement and leadership potential.
