About The Position

Working in collaboration with the Financial Literacy Project team, Come to Work Program team, and cross-functional colleagues, the Intern, Financial Literacy Project supports the execution of project activities related to financial literacy curriculum adaptation, resource development, stakeholder engagement, and program delivery. The Intern provides administrative, research, coordination, and content support to the Lead, Financial Literacy Project to help advance program goals, outcomes, and deliverables. This role contributes to ensuring materials are accessible, activities are well-coordinated, and reporting and documentation are completed accurately and on time.

  • Demonstrates sensitivity and respect when supporting individuals who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision.
  • Graduated from a post-secondary program in social sciences, community development, education, finance, or a related field.

  • Interest in financial literacy, community development, or economic empowerment.
  • Previous volunteer, academic, or work experience in project coordination, research, administration, or community programs is an asset.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a non-profit setting is considered an asset.
  • Lived experience related to blindness is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the adaptation of financial literacy curriculum materials into accessible formats (e.g., accessible PDFs, large print, screen reader–compatible documents, Braille).
  • Assist with research and compilation of financial literacy resources, tools, and best practices to support program delivery.
  • Provide coordination support for meetings, pilot groups, workshops, webinars, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Assist with preparing presentation materials, reports, and internal documents related to project deliverables.
  • Track participant engagement, attendance, feedback, and key metrics in CRM systems or tracking spreadsheets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support the collection and organization of data required for funder reporting and internal updates.
  • Draft communications, summaries, and outreach materials under the guidance of the Lead, Financial Literacy Project.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining digital resource libraries and project documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve accessibility, efficiency, and participant experience.
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support as required.
  • Other duties as assigned, including special projects and events.
