Aecon is currently seeking an Environmental Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sustainability, you will play a key role in implementing and monitoring environmental requirements on the project. You will actively contribute to ensuring regulatory compliance and minimizing environmental impacts related to construction activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in environmental roles within construction or infrastructure projects
  • Good knowledge of environmental regulations applicable in Québec
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based environment
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Field experience on construction sites (strong asset)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor environmental compliance with permits, approvals, and regulatory requirements
  • Support the implementation of the environmental management plan
  • Conduct environmental inspections on site
  • Identify environmental risks and propose mitigation measures
  • Track environmental incidents and corrective actions
  • Work closely with construction teams to promote best environmental practices
  • Maintain environmental documentation and records
  • Participate in internal and external environmental audits
  • Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
