About The Position

Provide direct developmental services to Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) eligible children, ages birth to 5 years, and their families in home-based and inclusive childcare settings in the counties of Sullivan and Washington. All staff employed by ETSU Expanding Horizons Early Intervention Resource Agency (EIRA) are informed about the Rights of Infants and Toddlers under Part C of IDEA and share this information with families in a positive manner. All ETSU Expanding Horizons staff adhere to the TEIS Operations Manual and all updates on policies and procedures pertaining to home/community-based developmental therapy providers under the auspices of the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) and the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD).

Requirements

  • BS or BA in early childhood special education, early childhood education, child and family studies (child development), early intervention, deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K-12, elementary education, communication disorders, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy and/or related field. (Related field means a degree in social work, nursing, psychology, education administration, or sociology.)
  • Related field degrees require a minimum of 1-year documented experience working with children with disabilities from 0-5 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • MA or MS in early childhood special education, early childhood education, family and child studies (child development), early intervention, deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K-12, elementary education, communication disorders, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy or physical therapy;
  • Experience in developmental assessments and/or evaluations;
  • Direct work with children and families
