About The Position

This position assists the Special Education Department in developing instructional diagnostic approaches for special education personnel across the district. The Coordinator will support campus principals and assistant principals in interpreting special education best practices for students with special needs in both general and special education settings. This role is responsible for establishing district standards for student achievement in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), coordinating and developing the district's ECSE programming spectrum of services, and preparing budgets for ECSE programs. Additionally, the Coordinator will provide staff development for ECSE staff, analyze campus data to assist with the allocation of ECSE classrooms, teachers, and paraprofessional support, and supervise ECSE curriculum coaches. The role also involves conducting Multi-Campus ARDs and performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Educational Support Services or Director of Specialized Programs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university
  • Texas certification in an area of Special Education
  • Minimum of four (4) years of successful teaching/coaching experience with students with severe/profound intellectual disabilities
  • Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, and cooperating with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Texas Administrator/Supervisor certificate preferred
  • Supervisory experience in Special Education preferred

Responsibilities
