About The Position

Provides individual psychotherapy to individuals 18 years and older, including diagnostic psychosocial evaluation, development of comprehensive treatment plans, ongoing therapy, and crisis intervention. The provider bills for counseling services. Acts as Coordinator of the Cancer Support Community, developing programs in healthy living, counseling, group support, social support, and education for those impacted by cancer. Works with consultants, staff, and volunteers to implement these programs. Functions effectively as an inter-disciplinary health care team member, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide continuity of care and facilitate the resolution of patient needs. Services are provided in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice and the policies and procedures of the Prisma Health System for Allied Professionals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work
  • Three (3) years Social Work experience required
  • Currently licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by the State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology experience preferred.
  • Experience with community partner collaborations and program creation and implementation preferred
  • OSW-C (Oncology Social Worker) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completed diagnostic assessment.
  • Assesses patient through a psychosocial assessment including mental status exam and determines mental health diagnosis.
  • Determines effective treatment plan.
  • Establishing short term obtainable goals.
  • See individual for on-going counseling or refers to appropriate resources.
  • Facilitates support groups.
  • Documentation conforms to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Develops programs to address cancer patients and family member needs in the areas of healthy living, social events, counseling and social support and education.
  • Establishes working relationships with contracted individuals, integrative oncology staff, and volunteers to facilitate programs.
  • Markets and promotes CSC within Prisma Health and the local community.
  • Responsible for administrative duties of program director as they relate to corporate CSC.
  • Procures and manages programmatic and research grants from CSC and monitors implementation to completion of each project or trial.
  • Assumes leadership role in facilitating meetings and comprehensive care planning with interdisciplinary team when necessary.
  • Provide clinical supervision for master's level students seeking clinical hours.
  • Collaborates with the team in assessing department needs and designing systems to meet departmental and organizational strategic initiatives.
  • Identifies programmatic and/or research grants that are suitable for conduction in the Cancer Institute.
  • Conducts grants to completion which include coordination of budgetary deliverables with the Office of Sponsored Grants, Investigation review Board (IRB) submissions and database/Epic Integration when appropriate.
