The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is seeking a Coordinator, Conservation Biology to join their team. This role is crucial for protecting important natural areas and the species they sustain. NCC is a leading private land conservation organization in Canada, dedicated to protecting natural areas and species through a collaborative, evidence-based approach. They have conserved over 20 million hectares since 1962. NCC acknowledges its work on lands traditionally managed by Indigenous Peoples and is committed to advancing Reconciliation and working respectfully with Indigenous Peoples. The Coordinator will lead conservation efforts in the Rice Lake Plains-Lake Iroquois Plain region, working collaboratively with staff across Central and Eastern Ontario. The position is based in Northumberland County with some travel within Ontario. The role involves stewardship and administration of NCC properties, contributing to strategic conservation planning, and delivering landscape-scale habitat restoration for tallgrass ecosystems. Key activities include restoring native habitats, protecting species at risk, managing invasive species, conducting monitoring, managing property risks, mitigating human impacts, and developing partnerships. The Coordinator will also manage contractors, leaseholders, volunteers, and external partners.
