We coordinate and manage federal, state, county, and city funds for programs providing shelter, housing, and services to people experiencing homelessness. The Coordinator, Compliance & Risk Management, supports the daily operations of the Risk Management department by providing administrative, operational, and compliance assistance. This role plays an integral part in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of the department and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Coordinator, Legal Operations & Compliance, will collaborate with team members to support key legal, risk and compliance activities while gaining exposure to various legal processes and operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Risk management, compliance, insurance and legal preferred.
  • Any combination of extensive and applicable work experience and educational credentials to perform the above duties successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Support CPRA request processing by tracking, logging, and monitoring incoming records requests to ensure timely responses.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management, Legal, and relevant departments to gather and review responsive records.
  • Ensure compliance with CPRA deadlines and requirements, escalating any potential delays or risks to leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails of CPRA requests, responses, and communications for accountability and reporting.
  • Identify and flag risks or recurring themes in CPRA requests that may indicate systemic compliance or operational issues.
  • Provide reporting and updates to leadership on CPRA compliance performance, including timeliness, volume, and resolution trends.
  • Assist in developing and refining CPRA-related policies, procedures, and staff training to ensure ongoing compliance and consistency.
  • Provide administrative support to the Risk Management department, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Support with the review, preparation, and organization of legal documents and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support Help manage the intake and routing of legal inquiries, ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up by team members.
  • Support secure sensitive legal records, while organizing a centralized repository of legal templates and work products.
  • Support the coordination of legal transactions, including gathering documentation, obtaining Certificates of Insurance, verifying coverage, and assisting with approvals.
  • Conduct preliminary research on compliance and insurance-related topics to support legal and regulatory initiatives.
  • Support with preparing materials for audits, regulatory filings, and other compliance related matters.
  • Provide administrative support for compliance programs, including tracking deadlines, monitoring activities, and preparing reports to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
