About The Position

Under the direction of the Healthy Start Manager, this position will work with other staff members to develop a group of diverse representatives across the community who work to address pressing issues and needs that may lead to poor perinatal health outcomes.

Requirements

  • Has personal experience in the North Tulsa community. (for example, currently or formally lived, attended school, or currently has family living in North Tulsa)
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Ability to assess and maintain cultural competency in all aspects of one’s work, treating all persons with courtesy and respect.
  • Public speaking, including presentation of information in a public forum.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills and telephone protocol.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Consortium members and other external partners.
  • Organizational ability.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to put in limited evening or week-end work.
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
  • Must maintain THD confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to perform work-related travel.
  • Must pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, public health, or a related field preferred.
  • Has at least three years of experience related to the posted job functions, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Convene and build a community consortium including Healthy Start participants or individuals living in North Tulsa (representing 25% of the consortium membership). The remainder of the membership will be various MCH professionals and organizations working to address SDOH challenges and other community leaders.
  • Assist in the hiring and initiating the training process for the Consortium Chair, a one-year, part-time position for a current or recent Healthy Start participant.
  • Conduct a needs assessment using reliable data sources as well as direct input from individuals living in North Tulsa. Update the needs assessment at a minimum of every two years.
  • Use the needs assessment to develop an Action Plan to address SDOH impacting the MCH population and prioritize by North Tulsa residents. The Action Plan must have a minimum of five measurable goals.
  • Work with the program evaluator regarding methods of measuring the Action Plan.
  • Participate in the Executive Management Team addressing systemic issues that are the focus of the Consortium.
  • Participates in other community consortiums/coalitions addressing issues of MCH interest and coordinates with other Consortium Coordinators.
  • Attend local, regional, and statewide meetings and trainings as required.
  • Participate in the HS Community Consortium Community of Practice and other technical assistance opportunities.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and current records and submit all required reports in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with the completion and submission of grant applications as needed.
  • Complete required training in support of the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Other duties as assigned including those required to fulfill activities in support of public health emergency operations.
